Two A+ College Ready Schools on a National Honor Roll
11-27-2012
The College Board announced its third annual Advanced Placement “District of the Year” awards last week, and four Alabama school districts were among the winners.
Two systems in the A+ College Ready program – Elmore County and Montgomery County public school systems – were listed on the honor roll, along with the Archdiocese of Mobile and Autauga County. Montgomery was further recognized as an Honor Roll district that has 30% or greater enrollment of American Indians, African American and Hispanic/Latino students. The honor roll consists of an unprecedented 539 U.S. public school districts that achieved increases in access to AP courses to a broader number of students while maintaining or improving the rate at which their AP students earned scores of 3 or higher on an AP exam.
